Hi,

I have major problems on my system since I tried to
upgrade my BIOS and ended up blowing up my primary
processor (on a twin processor board).

Obviously you can't help with that, but now when I try to
boot with my remaining processor I get to the Windows XP
login page, and a dialogue pops up telling me that I have
to activate my copy of Windows (I have already done this
before, but never mind...)

So I click YES to activate windows, at which point I get
the logon screen. I log in under my ID (the only ID on
the system except for Administrator because I am the only
user on my PC!) and immediately get the "activate
windows" dialogue again.

I click YES and it returns me to the login screen. I
login and I get the "activate windows" dialogue. I click
YES and return to the login screen. Then I... well, you
get the idea!

What's going on? And how do I get out of it? I can
successfully get into Safe Mode, but what do I need to do
here to fix it? Alternatively I've tried booting from
the Windows XP CD and going into Repair Console, but
again I don't know what I need to fix!

Please help! I'm lost without my PC and although I'm
typing this on a friend's, this is not a solution!

Kind Regards
Dave

Remove the Processor you "blewup" and perform
a "repair install".
