After installing XP Pro (SP1) on a Gateway PIII-733
(originally shipped with WinMe) there are three problems.
All three things worked perfectly before installing XP.
The previous OS was WinMe. I formatted the drive and did a
fresh install of XP.

1) The Network card is not working, even though there is
no problem noted in the device manager. XP is reporting
that the card is working properly but it is not. The light
on the card is off. XP says the cable is disconnected and
to reconnect. I have done this and the problem remains.
The card is some sort of generic, I believe it is
indentified as a Realtek 10/100 PCI.

2) Sound won't work. The card is identified as a
Soundblaster compliant. Once again, XP says everything is
fine but there is no sound output.

3) 40GB USB external HD is not recognized.

Any help greatly appreciated!
