Can somebody please explain me what POP3 and IMAP is and where i can find
out what i have got?
Also i would have to know what SMTP means!
Need to set up my e-mail account!

How do I get the email account information from my email provider?? (ISP)??
And also, it is not clear to me how do I find what kind of server is it
(POP3 or IMAP server)??
How do I know the names of both my incoming e‑mail server (such as
pop.example.com) and outgoing e‑mail server (such as smtp.example.com)???
I am sorry, but I don't understand nothing about that and all I want is to
install my Windows Mail
Thank you very much!
Fernanda

ISP = Internet Service Provider in other words the people you pay every
month to provide you with access to the internet. most ISP's provide you
with email service. find the main page of your ISP find their email
information from there to set up an email acct. If you cant get the info
from there then call them and let them walk you through it.

Your ISP or mail provider has all this information on their
website. If you need help finding it, let us know who your
your ISP or mail provider is.

ISP= the entity you pay to get Internet access.
Mail provider= the entity who provides your email address
and mail servers (can be the same as the ISP).

Different protocols for sending and receiving email. Which you
use depends on what your email provider (who is probably also
your internet provider) has set up for. Ask your email provider
for their instructions for setting up to use their email servers.
If they haven't written instructions for Windows Mail yet, use
their instructions for Outlook Express but under Windows
Mail instead. The instructions are probably somewhere on
their web site. Or, you could tell us who your email provider
is and see if anyone here already knows where to find the
instructions.

thankyou ,thankyou,thankyou Brink.

Hi Christelle,

You will need to get the email account information from your email
provider (ISP). They should have a webpage with thier email account
setup instructions for Outlook Express or Windows Mail. (They use the
same settings.)

POP3 = Incoming Mail server
SMTP = Outgoing Mail server
IMAP = Internet Mail Access sever

Hope this helps,
Shawn

"internet provider" is the company that provides you service to the
internet. Who are you paying to provide that service? That company is
probably an E-Mail provider also. The service is usually bundled into the
price you pay. If you are trying to bring up your e-mail, you need to get
to the e-mail help page for that provider and all the setup information will
be there. Please come back if you have more questions.
