As I have mentioned earlier I am having problems with not being able
to get the system to boot in safe mode.
After pondering this for some time now I think that when uninstalling
some software I was given the option of removing or keeping some DLL
files that "are not used by other programs" and was given the option
to keep or remove these DLL and other files (remove them or keep).
This, I think may have possible caused the problem I a am having
(option keep or delete - foolishly chose delete all).
In any case..... I am thinking of reinstalling windows "over my
current install". I seem to remember that this could be done , that
I could reinstall windows and not format the c:\ drive.... just
reinstall the operating system... My questions are..
A. Is this still possible???
B. If so... Once reinstallled will I get the nag saying that I have
installed the system on 2 computers (becasuse I have really installed
a lot of hard ware (cd / DVD / printer - scanner / 3 hard drives with
a card (PCI) for the extra hard drives / pci graphics card / KVM
adapter (have 2 computers and one flat screen) / a router / home net
work with 3 computers total connected together...
Not only do I have the above but I have tons of Software ... seems
like apretty drastic move just becase I cant get the box to boot in
safe mode - PLUS I can tforget I can not delete a foldr for some
strange reason... (thing I was copying and moving the folded and some
how locked it out to my accessing it when I deleted it prematurely...
Wont I have to reconfigure all my sofeware I have installed??? Maybe
even have to reinstall this sofe ware or will the items taht the
software tiess into windows remain on the system after I reinstall
windows... remember I am hoping I can reinstall over the current
install - not formatting the c drive where windows is currently
installed
Boy what "A fine mess I've gotten us into ( I have a mouse in my
pocket - who is the "us" in this statement (G))" said Laurl or was
that Hardy (G)...
Comments please......
