Help PLEASE!!!

I just installed a new device on my computer, its a DVD burner, but then my computer messed up and it deleted all my programs I got some of them back. Now the problem is that the computer sends me a message that says that my computer has no sound device installed but it plays music from Morpheus or anything off the internet it ust doesn't play any type of CD. What can I do? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Have you tried reinstalling the Soundcard drivers? Have you check the card
manufacturer's website for the latest XP drivers for your card?

I can answer that! Because this has time and time again proven to be the
best and fastest source of answers to nearly any question imaginable. There
are thousands and thousands of knowledgeable people on this newsgroup who
are willing to help someone like Rufino get pointed in the right direction.

Much too often, a user could spend hours and hours trying to figure out a
problem when he/she is not even looking in the right direction. This is the
place to start when you're stumped!
