I am running Windows XP profesional and when inserting any CD into the drive
nothing happens.
The CD drive does operate but nothing happens on screen.
Even when accesssing MY Computer and double clicking the CD drive it still
does not allow me to access the disk.
Previously I could just put the disk in and it would autostart.
I have tried to alter the autostart settings under properties for the drive,
but still no response.

Any ideas anyone??

Thanks. Len.

Note also that hardware (drives) doesn't last forever.

Why do you say it operates but then say it doesnt "even when accessing
via my computer?
Does it operate or not?

Some CDs can be corrupted before/after you got it. So the CD-Rom driver
appears as if no CD is inserted.

If it can read other CDs properly, you should contact the manufacturer of
the corrupted CD.
