Help!! please

When trying to open an uninstall file in windows
explorer, I accidentally left the "Always open this Type
of File with..." box checked and then selected a text
program to open it. Wrong! Now when I try to uninstall
anything the file is opened in wordpad and won't perform
it's task. Question: how do I take that file opening
command off?
Running Windows ME as OS
