Our other computer won't go past the startup screen to let anyone sign in to
their computer accounts. I've tried re-booting the computer, even in safe
mode, but to no avail. Any help at all would be a great help.

When starting up, tap F8 a few times before the Windows XP logo screen
appears and you should get a menu with, among other things, this
line:-

LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION
(your most recent setting that worked)

Select that and press ENTER.

It does not always work but well worth a try.

That was the first thing I tried and it didn't work.

Have you installed anything recently that might have caused this? The cause
might be something that's running.
Try safemode - command line only see if that works.

If it does, type msconfig and hit [Enter] | click on the startup tab
and make sure there is nothing on there that looks suspicious.
