power to come back and this happen s over and over and over again
vconstanly.......can anyone please tell me what this is and do I need a
repaireman to come in.Thank you, Judy O

Try going to Control Panel, then Display. When you're in there, click the
Screen Saver tab... make sure your screen saver is not set for blank
screen... then on the same window, click the POWER button. In the Power
Schemes tab, you should see information regarding when the monitor turns off,
when the hard disks turn off... etc. Make sure those settings aren't set for
a rediculously low time (like 2 minutes). You can also choose "never" if you
don't ever want them to turn off.

After you're done, hit OK... hit OK again... and give it a try. I don't
think it's a hardware issue because you are able to get back into your
program by clicking. Usually this just means that some software setting is
off.

Let me know if this helps... G'LUCK!

When you say the "power" fades in and out, what do you really mean?
Does the power light go out on the monitor?
Does the power light on the computer tower go off?
Does the tower fan go out and then back on?
Or do you mean the monitor display goes out?

Go to the control panel and open the Power Options icon. Tell us what
setting you have there.
Be more detailed in your description of the problem. I seriously doubt
that "power" is fading when you can click your mouse and it comes back on.

A friend of mine had a similar problem. When he upgraded to sp2 it reset all
of his power settings..Check Display properties click on the screensaver tab
at the bottom is the power settings. Check to make sure it isn't shutting
the power down. i leave all mine to never turn off and it works fine.
