In Netscape 7.1 there may be an EDIT|PREFS|ADVANCED|SYSTEM configuration
box. In that box, UNcheck the HTML choice.

Then try checking the Control Panel|INTERNET OPTIONS|PROGRAMS tab, "should
check" box.

If these measures do not succeed...

In Windows Explorer (or using Windows search tool), locate any local html
file. Right-click on it and click OPEN WITH. Click CHOOSE PROGRAM.
Check the "always use" box. Click the Internet Explorer item in the list.

HI,
I have tried everything you suggested, but nothing worked.Even when I
go into open with and select ie then tick always open with. It still
will not force it away from Netscape. Any other ideas please??

Remove Netscape.
Make sure IE works and is set up to check that it is the default browser.
Reinstall Netscape and be sure not to select it as your default browser when
you first use it.

HI,
Sorted it out. Believe it or not all I had to do was press the " reset
web settings" in the programs tab within IE6. This set the default home
page and search page, but I also set Ie as the default browser. Thanks
to everyone for your suggestions.
