1) Lose the caps. It's considered yelling, is extremely rude and makes
your posts very hard to read.

2) And what do we do if we don't know much about something?! That's
right, we RTFM.

Cerridwen,
why don't you wade across the pond and loan her your FM. Talk about rude ,
she has a way do go before she reaches your level of rudeness.

In desperation:
Find all the boxes that the computer came in and disconnect all the wiring
from the computer, place the computer and all remaining parts into the
boxes. Place the boxes firmly in the closet.( preferably way up out of
reach)
(UNTIL YOU TAKE A COMPUTER CLASS!)
Because you will not know what to do after it is turned on!
Got It??

I'm sorry, but I don't consider an acronym that's been in use for (at least)
65 years to be rude. Most of the acronyms you would consider rude (RTFM,
FUBAR, STFW, STFU etc) were invented by the US military either during - or
before - WWII. Something that old has lost all offensiveness, IMNSHO.

(RTFM, FUBAR, STFW, STFU etc)

RTFM and FUBAR I know. STFW and STFU are new ones to me. Can you shed some
light, Cerridwen?

Loren (and yes, I'm serious - always on the lookout for *good* acronyms <g>)

Cerridwen
Since you do not consider that term , or the others you have mentioned to be
rude or offensive , you would no doubt never hesitate to use those terms,
should you ever find yourself in a conversation with Her Majesty , the Queen
?
Let me know , should you decide to do so. I'd buy a ticket to see the
lynching.

Excuse me but how does the age or origin of an acronym even remotely apply to the fact that there are insults or curses attached to it's meaning? What's offensive is your apathy and egocentric ignorance!

Google is your friend. I suggest you STFW (not meant as offensive, just as a
clue...)

Thanks, Cerridwen. I googled, then laughed my a** off. STFW, indeed
(pointing at myself)!

Loren (armed with new - to me - acronyms)

YOU GUYS ARE NO HELP TO ME. LEN, MILTON, CERRIDWEN, WHATEVER... BITE ME. YOU FELL FOR MY TRAP... I HAVE BEEN TRACKING PERSONALITIES, AND ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT YOU ARE FREAKING PITTIFUL. "TROLL" DOES NOT EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE THE IGNORANT "MF'ER" YOU ARE. WHY DON'T YOU JUST STAY OFF THE NEWSGROUPS? YOU HAVE NEVER GIVEN ONE BIT OF VALUABLE INFOMATION. SINCE YOU ARE INTO ACRONYMS, THE DAY THAT YOU WERE BORN, DID THE DOCTOR HAND YOU TO YOUR MOTHER AND TELL HER THAT YOU WERE SOME KIND OF SNAFU? GO AND PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE, TROLLI
