No, finger and keyboard are fine. Maybe Maui took its toll, but it's
more likely just absolute panic setting in and now it's getting even
weirder. You probably hear this a lot, but my life is on Outllok. Now
it's actiing as if it isn't there anymore.
I just tried your first suggestion -- to run the OST Integrity Check --
and this is what happened: (i) First I get a OST Integrity Check dialogue
box telling me to quit Outlook before using this tool. BUT OUTLOOK IS NOT
RUNNING! NOT SHOWING UP ON THE TASKBAR, NOT EVEN SHOWING IN THE TASK
MANAGER!!! It's like clicking on nothing. (ii) Next (that is, after
clicking "OK", the only option (other than "don't show this again) on the
error message dialogue box just described) I get another OST Integrity
Check dialogue box, this one reading: "Offline Synchronization is not
supported for your mailbox." BUT I DON'T OFFLINE SYNC! I sync at home
using ActiveSync 3.7 with an HP iPAQ 1940 running PPC 2003. On the road I
use my BlueTooth cell as a "modem," but I don't sync remiotely (wish I
could, but I'm told that my firm doesn't have the new server and
accompanying remote synch capabilities . . . everyone is stil jazzed on
BlueBerries, and I'm the only PPC guy. BTW I sync with two computers, the
one at home, the problem one, is my secondary (that is, I don't synch my
Inbox at home, opnly at work). Make any sense? Help?

Something wrong with keyboard as well or did you break a finger on your
holiday? ;-)
Anyway; try one of the following;
1.. Try running scanpst.exe on your Personal Folder. By default
scanpst.exe can be found here;
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\<locale ID>
2.. Try renaming outcmd.dat to .old and restart Outlook. All the
Toolbars
will reset then. This is quite a common problem with Outlook . The
default
location for this file is:
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
3.. Try recreating the profile in Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show
Profiles...
4.. Try running Outlook with the /safe switch from your Start-> Run
window. The command line should look like this (check your path to
Outlook.exe);
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe" /safe
When this works run Help-> Detect and Repair
5.. Start in safe mode again and disable individual add-ons in Tools->
Options-> tab Other-> button Advanced E-mail Options...-> button Add-In
Manager.../COM Add-ins...
