Hi all!

Outlook version -> Outlook 2000.

I've created a .PST to store emails from a folder mail, in Outlook.

I've recorded it on a CD. Then, I've copied it to a local folder and tryed to open it. Outlook tells that the file is not a personal folder file.

Do you have any idea why this happens?

Best regards,
Joaquim.

Because the file acquired a read only attribute while on the CD. Remove the
read only attribute. Outlook needs read/write access to PST files.

Russ,

Thanks for your reply.

I've removed the Read Only attribute, but the message is the same.

Any more ideas?

Best regards,
Joaquim.

Not without more information.
Tell me how you created this file.
Tell me what happens when you run the Inbox Repair Tool on it.
Tell me its size.

Russ,

Thanks again for your reply.

Here are the answers to your questions.

1. I've created the file, using menu: File -> New -> Personal Folders File (.pst) ...

2. At this moment I am at home, so I can not run Inbox Repair on it. I'll do it tomorrow.

3. The size is about 500 MB.

Best regards,
Joaquim.

I have exactly the same problem, but the file is not read
only. It is 105kb and I am trying to import it to a
similar version of Outlook.
Any other ideas? Judith
