pictures won't show up on various websites and others will. It seems
ever since I put in service pack 2, that no matter the website I go
to, the pics are all red x'd out. AND what is the theory on
uninstalling SP2.. any reprocussions? TIA

Open IE and select Tools, Internet Options, Advanced. Go down to the
multimedia section and make sure SHOW PICTURES is checked.

I have the same problem. No picture just a small box with a red x!!!
The SHOW PICTURES is checked. Anyone have a suggestion??

Do pictures appear when you open or drop a picture file on the browser?
(e.g. file://%windir%\winnt256.bmp )
Is SP2 installed, and have you changed the settings for Information bar,
etc?
Is there a registry setting for images?
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg (Note the dot before jpg)
Content Type = image/jpg (and other types)

Is your HOSTS file set to block some sites?
%windir%/system32/drivers/etc/HOSTS (no extension. opens with Notepad)

Mark.. you listed all that.. BUT if they are there.. in reg.. etc.. so
we delete those entries.. wish there was some simple way to put
things... no pics... should be a simple answer for old ppl.. lol
