HELP on invalid Win32 application

when every i try to download something or install
software i get the following error message: "so and
so.exe" is not a valid Win32 application.

can somebody PLEASE help me on this and help me fix it?

Well, that message almost always means that the download is damaged or
incomplete ... so what are you using for download, and is it possible
you have problems with your phone line?
