help on internet and windows

When I click on internet explorer, it appears to be trying to connect and
then nothing happens. I do not get a Winows internet explorer screen. But I
do know that I have an internet connection beause if I click on upates for
HP it will retrieve the updates and show me what I need to update. I think
something got deleted in the Windows Registry for the internet but Ihave no
idea what it could be. I have tried a registy cleaner but that didn't seem to
work either. Please help.

NETSH

Click Start, Run, type:

netsh winsock reset

Press Enter key

Restart the system
