First, off I would like to say that I'm glad to be here and will try to
help as much as I can and hopefully do a lot reading and learn.

My questions is, if you have this:

Business1
Business1
Business1
Business1
Business2
Business2
Business3

I need a formula/column chart that will show on the bottom (x) axis
business 1,2,3, and y (axis) how many times it was listed.

business1/listed 4 times.
business2/listed 2 times.
business3/listed 1 time.

NewGuy,

This can be achieved with a pivot table / pivot chart.

Hightlight the list of business names.
Go to the data menu and select pivot table nad pivot chart report.
Click finish.
You should see teh pivot table field list.
Drag the business name from this box, to the left hand side of the grid
lines drawn on the new worksheet.
Then drag the business name from this box to the large area in the
lower right of the grid lines.

That should give you the counts you want.

To graph them, hit the graph button on the pivot table toolbar.

Now that is pivot tables 101, it is a very powerful tool in excel , but
a little tricky to learn. I suggest you look at the help files and ask
theforum if you have more questions.

Good luck

Kieran,

Worked like a charm!

Thank you so much.

Next questions is, how can I create another chart showing the top ten
repeating businesses.

Any help would be appreciated.
