I got a question.....I have alaptop which is running XP
home and a PIII 1Ghz chip. My problem is that my actual
window for the entire program does not form to the size
of my monitor...before, it was really close a thin black
black border maybe a 1/8" to 1/4" wide. Now it is almost
1/2" wide. I use this mainly for gaming and internet
purposes at my home. Is this a driver problem? Or even
better, can I get back those original factory settings
right now. The pc has been wiped at least 1 once that I
am sure of. I alsi downloaded all the possible updates.

Hi,
I don't think that is a driver problem. I know that on
a moniter for a desktop computer, you can move the screen
up, right, left, and down. You can also change the size.
On mine you can auto-adjust so it will align itself. You
need to find out how to find out the settings on a
notebook moniter. The only thing I find wierd is that it
changed by itself.

Hi,

That sure sounds like a laptop display driver problem.

If you wiped your system and re-installed, you might not
have gotten the best driver for your monitor installed.

I had this problem in the past when re-installing a
retail laptop. The driver supplied on the CD ROM from
the vendor had only generic display dirvers, and the
required driver was a custom one for theparticular
hardware. The display ended up with a 1/2 inch border
around it, with the requested display resolution
installed in the reduced screen size.

A trip to the PC makers web site, possibly followed by a
trip to the display manufacturer solved it.

Regards,

Neil
