I was adding an item to quick launch and suddenly my task bar doubled in width and the sys tray shrank. I cannot get it back to the original size. What should I do.
If you put the cusor on the upper edge of the task bar, it
will change from a pointer to a line with 2 arrows on it.
Now if you hold down the left mouse button, you should be
able to change the size of the task bar.

Thank you for your help. I managed to resize the TB following your guidance - it is quite fiddly at 1280 by 1024 screen resolution! If I lock the TB will it stop it going wrong again?

Unfortunately the wide bar with congested systray returns if the quicklaunch tool bar is enabled!
