I'm looking for some help. I was trying to clean out my system yesterday and
now my I receive an error when I try and start my computer. I thought what I
was doing was safe enough. I did the following:

Removed all programs I didn't need or hadn't used in sometime
AdWare
Spybot
Disk Cleanup
Disk Defrag

About 30% thru the defrag, the blue screen of death appeared forcing me to
reboot the system. Once I rebooted the system, I receive the following error:

"Primary Hard Disk Drive 0 not found"
"Primary Hard Disk Drive 1 not found"

Now, to preface things, I am not that savy when it comes to these sorts of
things (as if you probably counldn't tell). Can I reload my XP Home addition
without losing the files on my harddrive? That's most important.

One other thing, I do have a secondary HD. Can I boot from it? Maybe I could
get into my system that way and just move the files from C: to E:, then
reformat everything on C:. I don't know.

All suggestions, help and opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Geno,

This sounds a lot like a hardware failure. before going any further I
would suggest backing up any data you don't want to loose.
