Outlook 2000 under windows 2000
I was working with the folder list in the left pane and clicked on the
Calendar icon. I belive I may have inadvertnely dragged the calendar icon
into the deleted items icon. At any rate the calendar icon is no longer
visible in the folder list. I can not find the calendar under any of the
other icons in the folder list. Is there a way to recover access to the
calendar?

OK a disaster is now an annoyance. Uing View/go to I was able to find
calendar in the dropdown menue. When I clikcked on Calendar in that menu,
Calnder reappeared as a subfolder under Contacts in the Folder List with the
data intact. Unfortunately attempts to move it out of the Contacts folder
fail with a message that special folders like Calendar etc. can not be moved.
Apparently they can be moved, but not when you want to move them--only by
accident. Any idea of how to get my Calendar folder out of my Contacts
folder?

Look in Outlook's Help to see if it has the /resetfoldernames command line
switch. If it does, start Outlook with that switch. Click Start>Run and
enter the following in the Command box:

"%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe" /resetfoldernames

Include the quotes and spaces. If the path above is not your path to
Outlook, enter the correct path. If Outlook doesn't have the
/resetfoldernames switch, use the /resetfolders switch, which I know it has.
This should either move the folder back to where it belongs or it create a
new Calendar folder, into which you can then drag and drop all the items in
the misplaced Calendar.

Finally, if neither works, you'll need to create a new PST and make it your
delivery location. You can then move all the items in the old PST into the
new one, placing then in the folders where they belong.
