Hey, guys.

I recently posted here about a harddrive failure. well, I'm back with a new
one. x.x
I've tried to install my HP F1703's monitor drivers several times, it claims
it has installed them - but it still says "Default Monitor" when I check the
settings. I've even tried going to Intel's site searching for this driver
type that I had prior, but it says my system is not compatiable.

What's the deal, and how can I get my monitor installed???

Try; boot into Safe Mode, open Device Manager, delete/remove all instances
of the monitor, reboot, Windows will re-detect the hardware, when/if the
wizard comes up point to the driver you want to use.

I consider monitor drivers kinda optional. If your monitor looks fine,
and doesn't wig out (it probably won't), there's no reason to change.
