Help merging cells - worksheet wont let me ....

Hi there,
I have an excel spreadsheet that was developed by someone
here in my office. It will not let me merge cells, ANY
cells at all. Its the craziest thing Ive ever seen. Does
anyone have any suggestions?

Is the spreadsheet in shared mode ?

1) Try Tools -> Share Worksheet -> untick the box.
2) and merge the cells again
