when i open my outlook on my laptop and it start receiving the mails during
that download if i open any excel attachment the PC will get hanged shows
white screen at the back and after the excel opened than it again become
normal..........

I suspect you don't have sufficient RAM and/or processor power to do the two
operations at the same time...wait for Outlook to finish downloading before
opening any attachments....

Where is your email stored - in a local PST file, or on a remote IMAP or
Exchange Server? If on a remote server, this may account for the delay
while the Excel document is transferred.
