As with many people my whole life resides in my outlook important files etc
I exported it seemingly successfuly then wiped the old computer now
reisntalling it it isnt being recoginsed at all as a pst I have tried
importing old PST files which worked but that data is over 1 year old :( I
dont want to have lost a year of my life and also a particular email worth
about £250 with my work hours for a particular job please someone give me a
hand.

The files about 350MB-400MB but it just wont open at all :( if its corrupt
can it be fixed? Id even appraoch microsoft but as ever they arent the
easiest to find when support is needed

What is the error message you get when you try to open (NOT import) this PST
file?
Have you tried repairing it with the Inbox repair Tool?
Are you certain the file isn't marked read only?

You have now discovered why we always tell users that importing and
exporting PST's is a bad idea. Save and reuse PST's. Don't export and
import--there is no need to add two extra chances for data corruption if
you're not changing the file format of your data.

First backup your pst. then do a search for scanpst.exe (aka Inbox repair tool). Run this on the backup, this will determine if there are any noticable errors on it and fix it. This will properly create data loss!
When a pst is damaged there is really no to recover everything, there are non-microsoft websites out there with utilities but are not used by microsoft.

One of the users post file is damaged as it exceeded 2 MB of required limit. Please advise how to repair this file as it does not open anymore and all imporatant e-mail are in this file

At present the *.pst file size is 1.99 M
