Stuart

I recently updated most of my Windows and Internet
Explorer Applications with the most recent updates as i
hadn't done so for a long time. I'm currently running
Windows 98 although i do not know what version of Internet
Explorer.
This is because after the update Internet Explorer will
not let me enter bany text into textboxes/search boxes one
any websites. Plus, when i go to check the version i have
under "about Internet Explorer" it gives an error
message: "An error has occurred in this dialog, Error 96,
Unspecified error."
Anyone who could offer help and tell me how i can get
Internet Explorer to allow me to enter text in textboxes,
would very much be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

download belarc adviser, it will tell you all about your
pc. its free. don't know about text, IE 5.5 works well on
98 machines.

Your Internet Explorer install is hosed.

This is your best bet here.

It has the full install of 6sp1 and the updates for it, as well as a
removal program to get rid of the corrupt files to enable a clean
install. It's all menu driven by a AutoRun program that pops up when
you insert the CD and it's only $3.00
