i don't even know if this is the correct place to ask for
help. so I'm going to ask and just see what happens.

I went to turn my PC on today and it came up with
something about missing or corrupt system32\ntoskrnl.exe
file. I couldn't get into the computer at all. I never
recieved a disc with windows on because it came ready
loaded and i don't know how to overwrite this file.
is there any way around this?

You may be missing a boot.ini file in the root of your drive. If this is
the case, and you have another Windows XP machine around than you can make a
Windows XP boot disk by doing to following:

Format a floppy in GUI mode, dont quick format
Copy NTLDR, ntdetect.com and boot.ini to the floppy
Make sure your machine is set to boot from floppy and boot the machine

If the machine boots, copy the boot files into the root of the C:\ drive.
