Hi,

You may try a floppy cleaner first. Second, you can try changing the floppy IDE cord and see how it goes. How old is the drive? Floppy drives often have a very short life.

Thanks,

John

A couple of points about good posts:

- Always include a meaningful Subject line, e.g.
"Floppy disk drive crashes Windows 2000"

- Set the date of your PC correctly. You're one month
ahead of everyone else.

Or maybe it is that new hardware you made with your bare hands that is
making it freeze up! Seriously, fix your system time and try disabling
your antivirus when accessing the floppy. Also make sure all connections
inside the computer are good. Finally, try a different floppy if
available and see if that works.

I highly recommend ditching the floppy and getting a USB Flash drive.
They are much more reliable, much larger, and easier to work with.

Maybe it will work one month into
the future where you are living

Dear Lord, 12/31/1979? Come on. Maybe MS should reconfigure their
newgroup to go off its server's time instead of the user's clock.

Excellent idea Nathan!!!!
Which is exactly why MS newgroups will
not use it .................... It is too logical
and too easy .........

Just experimenting.

Floppy drives do not utilize an IDE cable :-)

Why should we help you? You didn't pay any attention to the previous
responses you received...INCLUDING the one that advise you to set your
calendar/clock correctly.

You've been told in another of your posts to fix your clock (see thread
starting at
microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware). Future dating (to position your
post above all others) is rude.

All caps (in your subject) is considered shouting. That is also rude.

Fix your date and someone will probably respond!

And please use PLAIN TEXT for newsgroups messages.
