HELP ME PLEASE I AM GOING MAD!

hi there.....i have formatted my computer several times in the past and all
was well, this time for some reason my picture files all huge in size ie: mb
instead if kb, my antivirus is taking forever and when i try to divx my home
movies they too are taking double time, i wondered if this is because i have
2 of everything on my computer now instead of 1 but dont know how to find
this out, my disc space seems normal and i dont understand much in the way of
computer speak but can work the damn thing most of the time .........PLEASE
HELP ME!

So what was the problem that made you THINK you needed to re-format? There's
usually NO NEED to reformat at all. Did you connect to the internet without
any firewall in place?

NO not quite that mad just yet....i installed a program that managed to worm
its way through my security and and removed some of my functions, i couldnt
get rid of it so formatted, thats not the problem, i want to know why my file
sizes have gone on steroids!
