I established a new user to be able to log into the network here and tried to
copy the my documents folder over to the new users my documents. The dick
ran out of room and when I cancelled the copy the folders in the original my
documents disappeared. I ran a restore but that did not correct the problem.
I have a panicicky doctor on my hands. How can I restore these files?

Did you "copy" it or "cut" it? The odds are that it's still there just not
where you left it. Search your hard drive for the name of the folder and see
what you come up with.

You said that some ofthe files made it to the new location. do a search for
one of the files that made it over and see if two come up and check the
location of each. If you get two in different locstions then there is your
lost folder.

The doctors says that when the message came up he answered yes to the recycle
bin and yes again when it was to big for the recyle bin. But i don't
understand why the source folders would disappear.

If he can recall the name of one of the files (guessing a patient/illness
name) then I would try to locate it. If he answered yes to the "File is too
large for recycle bin" then, for some reason, it was too large and it was
deleted and bypassed the bin. If he deleted the source file then it's
probably gone. I can't recall the name of, but I've heard of, programs that
will allow you to locate deleted information. It is still on your HD. It's
not GONE, just not able to be recalled. I believe that Norton 2000 had this
feature, but I never had to use it. Hopefully someone can aid you and I in
this with the name of one that will recover info. Sorry I wasn't of more aid.

Hello,

EASEUS DataRecoveryWizard utility can help. Speaking about me, it was
easily able to restore deleted, lost file and unformat drive,
so I think you will also find it quite useful. Really recommended
tool, give it a try.
