HELP! Lost Administrator Password

OK, we got a friends 2 year old computer which has XP
Professional loaded. No one in their family can recall
the old passwords - nor the Administror Password.

What can one do to get the computer to work? Will buying
an XP Home edition and loading it on do the job?

HELP!
