Every time I try to send something this thing comes up that says 'You need to
verify your ID' so I type it and click ok and then it just keeps coming back
up. what do I do now? I checked to make sure I typed the password correct and
everything, so I don't know what's wrong.

Hi Ritz, I was just trying to sort out the Windows Mail for my daughter and
had the same trouble. Reading the help section, I figured out that she can't
use Windows (POP3) because she is not a Premium member of Yahoo as I am. That
could be your problem. Are you Premium? Good luck in any case.

Sorry if this response is a duplicate; I answered this once and then had to
sign up or in or something and my post SEEMS to be GONE. Anyway, just wanted
to say that the problem might be that for the POP3 to work on Windows Mail
you have to be a premium member, k.

Goodluck, Duncan

Did it ever work?
Who is your email service provider?
Which antivirus are you running?

no it never worked, i just set it up yesterday and every time i've tried to
send a message it says that.
I have Yahoo!
I think it is just windows i used to have norton but I'm not sure now, I
share this computer.

In that case, you probably have a free Yahoo account.
US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no POP
access. Windows Mail does not handle Yahoo webmail.
There are two possible solutions:

1. How did you access Yahoo mail before? If you are happy with
webmail via your browser, you can continue to use that.

2. Pay Yahoo to get their premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

There is a third option called YPOPs, but I don't recommend it any more
because it is not reliable.

Gary,

This is what I found regarding Yahoo using POP3 settings..

Yahoo! Mail Settings
Unlike Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail offers standard POP3 access for receiving emails
incoming through your Yahoo mailbox, by using your favorite email client
software. To setup your email client for working with your Yahoo account,
you need to select the POP3 protocol and use the following mail server
settings:
Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)
Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)

That sounds like old information that is no longer valid.
What is the URL link for that?
