and can't get it back ! It's the little one with buttons for "start
recording" / "stop recording" / "absolute/relative," that's vanished - the
one that appears floating on the spreadsheet when you hit the macro "record"
button.

It appeared "floating" on the spreadsheet when I dropped down Tools | Macro
| Record put an "a" in the box by the "Ctrl +" label, typed in a name for
the macro in the top box and clicked "start" recording. I clicked its' x
to get rid of it thinking it was a toolbar and that I would be able to
simply switch it back on just like other toolbars but, "horror of horrors"
it's not listed on the drop down "View | Toolbars" list.

So now the "toggle" button on that toolbar that I can't get at is stuck in
"absolute," I need to toggle it to "relative."

big TIA , regards, Richard

Richard,

If you just start recording, chances are it'll then be accessible via
View -- Toolbars. Just turn it on again.

big Ta, just found it, (s'why I'm back here to say "found it"), in the
"Customize" section of the View | Toolbars drop-down , click "Customize and
you get a another large "Customize" check bix list that works like the
first/ordinary dropdown View | Toolbars list. Twas called "Stop Recording"
in that Customize list. So have got access to the "relative/abosulute"
toggle button now :-)

THAT WAS A BITCH TO FIND ......whoever structures these menus AT MS needs a
kick in the arse !!
......no amount of lateral thinking and using a massive range of Excel type
"keywords" to searching Excels' help database yielded anything that led to
information to solve that stupid little but, MASSIVELY time consuming
problem ! Why is it that MS application help databases ALWAYS locate and
produce everything you didn't want to know?

regards, Richard

Try "Right Clicking" while your mouse is over the toolbar area.
This should bring up a listing of our available toolbars, then select Visual
Basic.

Thanx Harold for responding. I posted to my own post earlier on, I found it
in the drop-down View | Toolbars | "Customize" ....as soon as you click on
the "Customize" option on that menu , you get a big checkbox list, like the
View | Toolbars and i was in there called "Stop Recording" ...I think.
Anyway have got it now but, what a bitch to find !!! I HATE it when
somethgin is just a couple of clicks away and it just can't be found !

Richard,

Try View > Toolbars > Customize... > select Stop Recording, (name), and
click on the *RESET* button - should reset it back to what it was.
