Dear experts,
I wanted to connect my private computer working under XP to my office laptop
also working under XP.
What I did is changing the settings in my professional computer under
"Computer" --> Properties --> "Computer Name" --> "Network ID" from
professional (connected to a company network) to private.

Now, when I start my laptop, I do not get the possibility to choose the
network domain anymore, and when I fill in there my professional user ID and
password I get a "wrong password" message... so I can't access the system to
change the networking properties as they were before.

Could you please let me know what I can do to log on again?

Many thanks for your kind help!

Best regards,

At the logon screen hit ctrl-alt-del twice to bring up Administrator logon
window.
Use Administrator as username with password left blank.

Hi,
I have tried and I get a pop up screen telling me "Your account has been
disabled. Please see your system administrator".
Does it mean that I have to reset my professional password? Or do I have to
do something else? (I can't try to reset my password until Monday, when I am
in the office and have access to the network - my fear is that my lapotop
won't recognize the network...)
Many thanks!
Best regards,
Valeria

Valeria, at my workplace unless the admin types created a "stand alone"
logon for the laptop it would not allow anyone to logon unless connected
to the network.

You may have to wait until Monday and have your IT guys take a look
at it for you.
