My laptop crashed last week....I bought a new laptop and
want to get all of my .pst files off of my hard drive
from the old laptop. I have all of the word and other
office files off, but I can't find the outlook .pst
files. Actually I have found them but I cannot open
them. What do I do??

is this a home computer ?
if it is not then it is in a .OST file for the server -
get the admin......

if it is at home the .pst file is a hiddin file, but you
can find it under.....

C:\Documents and Settings\ YOUR SPECIFIC USER \Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst

HenryI found it under that path...but how do i get it from
there into my new Outlook.....
I can't open it by itself, what does it need to be able
to open it..
Basically I just need the information that is in
it....contacts...notes..etc...
It is a Home computer.
Thank you so much!!
Michelle

Copy it to your new laptop, make sure it's not marked read only, then go
into Outlook and use File | Open | Outlook Data File to open the .PST in
your Folder List. If you plan to use it as your primary set of Personal
Folders (i.e. your mail will be delivered there), you will need to tell
Outlook to make it your primary.
