Help! fonts < 8pt not printing (XL->Ppt)

I have a graph I created in Excel
I copy/paste it to Powerpoint
The category X-Axis labels are just under 8 point
I've tried arial and times new roman fonts
I've messed with all the postscript settings

No matter what I do, the small fonts come out as
black bars- actually, if I look at it in the right light,
the text is there, but it is printed in a black field-
like instead of being transparent (white) the field
is printed with black fill.

I tried printing with PCL drivers, but then other
parts of the graph don't print (it is even worse).
I've tried printing to multiple printers, different
brands (HP and Xerox) all with the most up-
to-date drivers available from their web sites.

I was just upgraded to WinXP and OfficeXP,
and created this document after the upgrade.

Is this a known issue that anyone else has
run into? Is there a fix or workaround?

Much thanks in advance for any solutions,
Keith

Thank you Debra- I didn't have the URL, but from past experience I had tried
pasting both as an enhanced metafile (paste special in Ppt, which showed the
same symptoms) and "copy as picture/as printed" from Excel, which did
alleviate the problem. Technically that counts as a workaround, but I was
hoping for something more permanent, whether it be windows or print driver
type settings, so I wouldn't have to print expensive color presentations
then go back and see if any of the pages had problems and reprint, tweak,
reprint, and so on.

I'm still interested in any leads that help find the root cause of the
problem, because I'd like to verify whether or not this is a bug, and if so,
make sure it is logged by MS so that they can put it on their list of known
issues and hopefully find a fix- as the Excel copy as picture is not a
'standard' menu item and most users won't know about it unless they lurk in
one of the Excel groups for a while :-) This is definitely a departure
from wysiwyg, and I've already run into two other people who had the same
problem and weren't able to find a fix for it (neither knew about the copy
as picture).

If no-one has seen this as a known issue, I'll wait a few days then submit
to MS....

Thanks!
Keith
