I just recently installed Outlook 2003 and noticed that a
FOR FOLLOW UP folder was added to my FAVORITE FOLDERS
list.

I learned that in my INBOX and SENT ITEMS there is a
column with a small flag next to each of my received or
sent emails. If I click on the flag, it put a copy of
that email in my FOR FOLLOW UP folder. In this way, I
can periodically review this folder and send reminders
for replies.

What I want to do is to compose an email and activate
the "message flag" feature so when I SEND, a copy will
also go into my FOR FOLLOW UP folder. But when I
activate the "message flag", a copy does not go to the
FOR FOLLOW UP folder. I end up having to go to SENT
ITEMS, find the email, and click on the flag there. That
works.

How can I get a copy of an email into my FOR FOLLOW UP
folder when I am composing the email and before sending?

Thanks

"For Follow Up" is a search folder. It's a dynamic list of all the items
you have flagged, but I don't think it works on unsent messages. Have you
tried saving the message to Drafts before sending, to see if that makes a
difference?
