I would like to create help files for my database - what would be the best
and most user friendly way of doing this?

thanks Steve

Steve,
I would like to create help files for my database - what would be the best
and most user friendly way of doing this?

There are several compiled formats in which you can deliver Windows
help; WinHelp (.hlp) and HTML Help (.chm) are the most commonly used.
For some information on how to start creating a help file in one of
these formats, see:

http://helpware.net/htmlhelp/basics.htm

If you decide to create an HTML Help file, the best places to look for
information on how to connect it to your Access application are listed
under the "Microsoft Office" heading at:

http://www.mshelpwiki.com/index.php?page=HTMLHelpArticles

For instructions on how to connect a WinHelp file to your application, see:

I am in the process of doing the same thing and am running
into a brick wall. There's a microsoft app called 'Html
Help Workshop' that allows you to create custom help
files. I was able to create a custom help file with it but
have yet to have it come up correctly from my database. It
is a pain to use. There's another app out there
called 'FastHelp'. http://www.fast-help.com. It is a
fairly easy to use app but costs $299.00. You can download
a 14-day trial version. Again, I STILL am having
difficulty getting the actual help file to display from
within access. If I get it to work, I'll respond again.
