I have read many, many threads on folks not being able to get file sharing to
work correctly.

I am currently running WinXP PRO on both of the computers I am "trying" to
network.

I have two questions to start:

1. Is there any documentation that shows how networking should be setup as
a "new" installation occurs rather than troubleshoot the problem "after" an
O/S installation is already completed.
2. If no start to finish documentation exists, can you please point me to
some "101 level" instructions that show how to fix/troubleshoot my file
sharing problem which is basically "computer A" can see files on "computer B"
but the reciprocal is not true.

Thanks a bunch...

make sure on the network card of B has file sahring turned on as part of
protocol.

the setps below may vary from PC on exact detail to reach Loacl area
Networking.. I am showing teh default no customized method ( there is
quicker way)

go Control panel, networking, network connections, select local area
networking double click, properties
- if File and Printer sharing is not checked, click ont eh square, OK
- if File and Printer sharing is not present , click install and seelct to
isntall File and Printer sharing

Goo luck ( note the above is from memory not testd)
