HELP!! Explorer keeps closing!

I see several other messages like this. "IE has
encountered a problem and must close" When I click to get
info about installing sp2, an add pops up for a firewall
program. I close it and then IE "encounters a problem"
and I have to start all over again. VERY FRUSTRATING!
Anyone have any ideas?

I've seen this situation to be caused by spyware and possibly can be easily
remedied. In the control panel, click on Internet Options/Advanced Tab/and
uncheck the box for "Enable third party browser extensions". Restart the
computer and experience has shown that IE will launch normall again. Of
course, if you are getting popups, slow response time on your computer and/or
internet connection, you may want to download a spyware removal program such
as Ad-Aware from download.com, run it weekly always checking for updates
prior. It it free.
