I've looked all over the web and still can't solve this. I hop
someone can help me here. Thanks in advance
I have a lot of recurring items (with no end date) because I see a lo
of my clients regularly every week at the same time. I've notice tha
when I try to delete a recurring item (a client that I no longer se
regularly) the only option available to me in Calendar was to eithe
delete one item or all recurring items (even ones in the past)! If
was to set an end date to the recurring item then all recurrring ite
from the past that has been modified (which is quite often a
sometimes they get cancelled or changed) will re-set as if the chang
never took place

Does anybody else find this a problem

What's the use of past and future appointments with a customers
you no longer meet...

IMHO, I would delete all recurring items regarding this customer.

Good point, I've never thought of it like that before. But, the inf
is still useful as an old client may return then I can check to se
when they had had appointments in the past. Anyhow, having the inf
is a plus compare to not having it... It just seemed odd that there'
no options but to delete it..

Only for about a year, then Outlook will automatically drop the items from
the Calendar.

I had assumed that old appointments will get archived. Is that not
true ? I like to be able to use Outlook to reconstruct my activities
for the previous tax year, which could easily be 18 months before the
date when I am accessing the data.

Moreover, I count on the info to be available in the event of a tax
audit. Is my confidence in the Microsoft Outlook design and
programming team misplaced ? Is there some default that wipes out old
data ? Can I change it now to preserve my appointment and task
achievement record ?

Not if you don't have autoarchive enabled.

Then you should enable autoarchiving, I would guess.

The items in the Calendar folder in Outlook have always dropped off after
about 12-18 months. I don't recall which it is when I tested.

No, it's just the way the Calendar works.
Can I change it now to preserve my appointment and task
achievement record ?

I don't know of any way to do that, other than autoarchive.
