I have a Server 2000 box that was originally set-up (by
someone else) for Active Directory with a Domain but
yesterday the Domain was lost somehow. I was unable to
add users as when i went to the AD user screen it
incicated that the domain was unavailable. I tried a re-
boot and that seemed fine but it would not let me log-on
with any of my users including the Administrator as it
errored and said that "Username, Passowrd or Domain was
incorrect". I was able to start the server in safe mode
without the domain. The server is up and
running "kinda". Is there any way to kill the AD and the
domain so that i can login normally? That seems to be
the only problem with the server, and if i could get
logged-on normally i wont worry about the AD or the
domain as it is now only a SQL server and not a file
server as before. I am really new to Networking so this
is a catastrophe to me. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

Try runniung on RUN....DCPROMO...that'll wipe out AD and
you will have to reset the password at that time, it'll
prompt you for password change.
Good luck!!
