HELP Desperatly

Help is needed i tried to put in new aster hd which had win98se on it from
old packard bell mmx computer into a amd athlon computer as master it didnt
work so when i put original hd of win xp pro back into amd athlon computer
(original computer) now it wont boot can anyone help me how can i do a clean
install of winxp pro back on this one if I must and whats min ram to use for
it since its mainly for email and aol and internet no games...

Check all the connections very carefully, both power and data. Make sure
that you have it connected to the same IDE cable as the one from which
you disconnected it.

You say it won't boot; how far does it get and are there any messages?

Can you hear the hard disk spinning up during boot? Does the BIOS show
that the hard disk has been detected?

the hd is very quiet so u cant hear anything it boots win xp stops and i get
error screen saying start in either safe mode normal mode etc counsdown, so
when i click normal or safe mode it reboots i get win xp screen again and
that error box comes up again then freezes, or sometimes it just freezes to
the blue death screen saying press ctrl alt delete to reboot computer
