Hi, my friends,

In my application, I have to use a PCI A/D card. It comes with a CD. There's
no inf file but an install.exe.

I run InCtrl5 to trace the installation. It created a report file.

26 keys were added, 74 values were added, 5 values were changed in registry
table.

55 folders and 297 files were added in diffrent folder.

It scared me.
Do I have to add all these items one by one manually in Component
Designer?

The files were addded to diffrent folder, some in C:\Windows\System32 , some
file in C:\PCI12, and some in C:\Program Files. But in Component designer
there is only add files but no option to where the files will be added to.

Please help me.

I tried to install the driver and tools on run-time image. It works well but
my real target device won't have a CD.

Best regards,

Larry

Larry,

It would be of first priority if you culd scrap the inf .during
the start of installation ,put a search in between (before you
continue with the install after copying the files or extracting it)to
get the inf.It should be in most cases in the temp folder.Import it to
the Component Designer. However if you ask whether u need add all those
registry entries that is added by inctrl then probably YES you need
to, unless you know that an entry is useless.

The Add Files in the Component designer specifies the destination
directory where the file should be placed in the target.you need to
browse to the file in your host machine (the target name tab) and the
destination automatically appears in the box(dest text box).I think
this should make u in a better position.

good luck
