don't know what i have done! i uninstalled a program from Comcast (security
manager) and on the return from the automatic reboot......i put in my
password at the XP welcome screen...and it starts to log on....blinks my
desktop background and automatically logs out my account. i have tried it
with my sons account and it does the same thing.....and also have tried it
from going to safe mode too......and i can't even get into safe mode either.
i guess i need to hack in around the password but i don't know how. any help
at all would be great.....Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!

i followed someones advice and now i have corrupted or missing files
(\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM) i was pointed to this page...
http://www.digitalwebcast.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=8658-0 and
followed it to the letter.......and still messed it up somehow. the
directions in step 3 did not give me the confirmation for the 'copy' prompt
as the fix said it would. anybody have any ideas on how to get me outta this
one? i tried to go thru and try it again too and it tells me i already have
a file named 'md tmp'
and when i put in this line (next on the directions)
copy
C:\windows\system32\config\system C:\windows\tmp\system.bak
^^^^^^^^ all on one line..... the command is not recognised. it had gotten
me back into windows and i thought my problem was solved. not with my
luck....
