When I launch Win xp it takes 5 minutes to get to my
desktop, IE 6 takes way too long to get web pages, and
uses up always 100% cpu usage that when I get into other
programs it freezes until web page is finally downloaded.

How can I repair this problem where 100% of my cpu is
always tied up when using IE 6 or programs like word
etc.

thanks for replies and help!
ps, I have 256 ram pentium 4 , 2 GHZ and 80 GIG hardrive
I removed all spyware and ran virus program, still
computer is slow!

I have had this problem as well. You can try accessing
the task manager and finding which process is using all
of your memory and end the process. This has worked for
me.You don't want to end explorer.
It might also be that you have Some spyware that your
scanner didn't detect. What did you use. I like spy-bot
and I like spy hunter adaware is good too I use all of
these and also spy sweeper.Spy-bot is tricky because it
will list a lot of files and logs that you want to
keep.Be careful with this, only delete the ones that are
spyware.
Spy hunter is very good. You can get a free version. The
free version will not remove the programs but it will
tell you where they are so you can remove them manually.
You could always try system restore to before the problem
started.
Hope this is of some help.
