How can I remove a reference to CD Direct driver that keeps popping up in
XP?

the program Direct CD was removed through the "Remove/Install Software" in
Control panel.

Problem is, the driver, or some part of it, is hidden on my hard drive.
Every time I boot - a mesage appears that XP will not permit this driver to
load because of a conflict.
This slows my boot time. There has to be a way to remove this reference to
the original program that was properly removed.
Thanks in advance

Jerry, go to Start>Run type: Regedit. Navigate to
Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run,
Run Once Folders. Click on and in the
rt hand pane look for any instance of DirectCD and delete it.
The same with
Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run,
Run Once Folders

Help I am trying to remove DirectCD drivers as directed , to edit the Registry. However, I can't even open Regedit.exe when I'm logged on as Administrator. any help would be greatly appreciated.
ERROR massage "Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator."
