Help!!!Can't turn off windows?

When I shut down I get a msg that wupdater is trying to
shut down and it won't end task. I found the following
files: Windows.000\prefetch\updater.exe-ode294.pf and
program files\common files\updater\updater
Are these legit fies? How can I solve this problem?

You have spyware on your system try ad-aware or spybot

ok go to run and type msconfig , then click advanced and disable quick/fast shutdown if this doesn't work contact me by e-mail and i will give you another thing to try.
