I'm new at WinXP and need some advice. I'm running Win XP Home. I've
shut off "System Restore" in favor of "Goback". Something I did in the
last few hours caused the message below to appear. My problem is NOT
the recovery. That seemed to go alright. The problem is that the
message itself won't go away! It shows up each and every time I
re-start (or re-boot) the system. I went back in time, using "Goback",
but apparently didn't revert far enough. Can anyone tell me how to
eliminate this message?

Thanks.

"One of the files containing the System's registry Data had to be
recovered by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful."

How about telling us what the error message is and when it comes up?

It sounds to me like a "flaw" in Goback. By flaw it may have only shown
up after MS updated something in their system and Norton did not know about
it when they wrote the version of Goback you have.

I suggest contacting Norton. Check their web site and see if they have
reported a problem and possible fix.

BTW why did you switch to Goback?

It's doubtful that it has anythinjg to do with Goback. Problem arose
when I foolishly went into"Hibernate" while at the same time using
multiple USB devices. THAT is a definite "no-no". When I reverted,
using "Goback", I just didn't revert back far enough.

Didn't "switch" to Goback. Have used it now for several years. It's
MUCH more versatile and robust than "System Restore".

BTW: Most of my family is from Sligo.

I only questioned it because MS might have made some changes to their
product that Norton did not know about when they developed Goback and now it
may be a problem. Any updates from MS could cause the problem. I suspect
Norton would want to know about and fix any thing that would hit many users.

I wonder how many people here even know where Sligo is (or that it is a
place?)
