there are some suggestions
that i can provide:
1) firstly, make sure you bits & autoupdates
are enabled in services.msc
2) i have created a batch file called
updatefix.bat with the entries below.
however, you can copy and paste each
one in the run command:
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
3) you can use the new
One Care program that has
the ability to download
updates. however, if you
have anything from symantec
installed it may inhibit OneCare
and maybe is a cause of your
original issue:

issues directly related to
